The Request
Colorset North were appointed to design and install an eye-catching hoarding for the duration of a major building project in central London. The hoarding needed to be visually striking, durable, and able to withstand the challenges of a busy public environment.
The Challenge
The project faced multiple complexities, including a high vandalism risk due to the hoarding’s location, the need for a prominent and bespoke upper gantry feature element, intricate site logistics alongside the River Thames, a train station, and a busy main road, and stringent health and safety requirements involving scaffolding, MEWPs, TFL road closures, and site security.
The Solution
Using smart materials like anti-graffiti laminate, an innovative gantry design with folded lightweight aluminium for a high-quality finish, close coordination with the client and contractor for site logistics and permits, and controlled, safe installation including managing scaffolding and security procedures.
The Outcome
Phase One of the hoarding was delivered successfully, providing a robust, striking, and secure public-facing installation in one of London’s most challenging environments. Phase Two is scheduled for August 2025, building on the success of the first stage.
